The concept and classification of shipping routes

In 1the operation of the ship type

(1) the regular route, refers to the use of a fixed ship, according to a fixed schedule and port navigation, and to be fixed relative to the freight operating passenger and freight transport business route. The airline also called liner routes, mainly shipped miscellaneous goods.

(2) irregular routes, is temporarily according to the freight needs and choices of route. The ship, sailing, ports of call are not fixed, is engaged in bulk, cheap transport of goods consisting mainly of business route.

2 according to the voyage of the far and near points

(1) ocean route ( OCEAN-GOING SHIPPING LINE ) refers to the flight distance, sailing across the ocean transport routes, such as the Far East to Europe and America route. (1) the Atlantic route; (2) the Pacific route; (3) the India ocean shipping routes; (4) global routes.
